An intrepid resident of Castle Orcus, (located in Southern California) Janice first became interested in Sailor Moon in 1998 after catching a few of the dubbed episodes in the afternoon. At first she thought the show was lame. However, after being told that two of the "Scouts" were lesbians, she decided to give it another chance. Eventually she watched the critical mass of episodes required to become a Sailor Moon Otaku. Many videos, manga, posters, and Petite Soldiers later, her husband is seriously considering checking her in to "SMOA" (Sailor Moon Otaku Anonymous).
Sailor Moon is not the only anime she watches, however, and she claims that the "Battle Angel" anime AND manga actually hold first place in her affections, with Sailor Moon being a close...VERY close...second. She also has been known to watch "Arcadia of My Youth", "Escaflowne", "Utena", "Patlabor", "Gunsmith Cats", "You're Under Arrest", and recently, "CLAMP School Detectives", as well as myriad other titles too numerous to list.
When she's not watching anime, Janice enjoys wargaming, reading, writing fanfiction, and spending time with the most wonderful man in the world: her husband.
She is also a "Sherlock Holmes" otaku.
Her pet peeves include people who post stories to the net without proofreading for spelling and grammar mistakes first (Tense, people! Stop switching back and forth between past and present!!!), inconsiderate smokers, and closed-minded bigots.
Recently she began to study Japanese, and she has made many friends as a result of this. She is majoring in music as a lyric soprano. She was born July 1, which makes her a Cancer, in 1976, which makes her a Dragon.
She and her husband are Jewish atheists.
